OERENA Scan

Privacy Policy

How OERENA Scan handles document content, account information, advertising, analytics and purchases.

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Product continuity. e-ScanToWord is being rebranded as OERENA Scan. Existing Android installations and the existing Google Play application may continue under the same underlying app identity while the public brand changes.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to OERENA Scan, formerly known as e-ScanToWord, and the OERENA Scan website and support experience.

OERENA Scan helps people scan documents, extract text with OCR, work with PDFs and images, and use supported AI-assisted document tools.

2. Information OERENA Scan may process

Account information. If you sign in, we may receive account identifiers and profile details supplied by the authentication method you choose, such as an email address and display name.

Documents and files you choose. The app can process photos, camera captures, PDFs and other supported files that you deliberately select or create in the app.

App and device information. We may process app version, device and operating-system information, diagnostics, crash data, usage events and similar technical information needed to operate and improve the service.

Advertising and consent information. If ads are shown, Google AdMob and its partners may process advertising identifiers, device information, consent choices and related ad-delivery data as permitted by law and your settings.

Purchase information. Google Play or the Apple App Store processes your payment. OERENA Scan may receive product, transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock a purchase or subscription. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

3. Document processing

Some scanning and recognition work can be performed on your device. Features that require cloud or AI document processing may send the document or extracted content you selected to OERENA-operated cloud services or service providers so the requested feature can be completed.

Document content is used to provide the feature you requested, maintain the service and protect it from abuse. OERENA does not use the text or images inside your private documents to choose advertisements for you.

The amount of time processing content is retained depends on the feature, service configuration, security needs and applicable legal requirements. Avoid uploading documents you do not have permission to process.

4. How information is used

We use information to provide scanning, OCR, PDF, export, translation and supported AI document features; authenticate users; maintain purchase entitlements; provide customer support; prevent abuse; diagnose failures; measure product performance; improve OERENA Scan; and comply with legal obligations.

5. Advertising and consent

OERENA Scan may display advertising through Google AdMob. Depending on your region, device settings and consent choices, ads may be personalised, non-personalised or limited.

Where required, a consent message may be shown before advertising partners process data for personalised advertising or related purposes. Where available, you can review applicable choices through the consent message, in-app privacy controls or your operating system.

OERENA Scan does not require precise location for its core document-scanning features.

6. Permissions

Camera permission is used when you choose to scan or capture a document.

Photo-library or media access is used when you choose to import an image or save supported output.

File access is used when you choose a supported document such as a PDF or export a file.

You can manage operating-system permissions at any time, although disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.

7. Service providers

OERENA Scan uses service providers to operate parts of the app. These may include Google Firebase services for authentication, analytics, messaging or diagnostics; Google Mobile Ads/AdMob for advertising; Google ML Kit and related document technologies; OERENA cloud infrastructure; and Google Play or Apple App Store services for distribution and purchases.

Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies where they act independently.

8. Storage, history and security

Some app preferences, scan history and generated files may be stored locally on your device. Account-linked or cloud-enabled features may store relevant data in OERENA or service-provider systems.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information in transit and at rest where applicable. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and privacy requests

You can control camera, photo and file permissions through your device settings. Advertising and consent choices may also be available through the app, Google consent controls or your operating system.

For access, correction, deletion or another privacy request relating to OERENA Scan, contact OERENA using the address below. We may need enough information to verify and complete the request.

10. Children

OERENA Scan is a general-purpose productivity app and is not designed specifically for children. If you believe a child has provided personal information in circumstances that require removal, contact us.

11. International processing

OERENA and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for cross-border processing.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when OERENA Scan, its service providers or legal requirements change. The current version will be published at this address with an updated date.
